The licence
Scrapping cars is a regulated industry, and the licence is the first thing worth checking with any service. Ours is public. Motorwise is licensed and inspected by the Environment Agency as an Upper Tier Waste Broker & Dealer, registration CBDU122025.
You don't have to take our word for any of it. The registration sits on the Environment Agency's public register, held by Motorwise Online Services Limited, and runs to 4 August 2028.

Only licensed hands
Authorised Treatment Facilities are the only organisations legally permitted to scrap a car and issue an authentic Certificate of Destruction. We work exclusively with ATFs licensed by the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales or the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
A Certificate of Destruction is issued for every scrapped vehicle and submitted electronically to DVLA by the facility.

We introduce, you sell
Motorwise is an introducer. Your sale contract is with the Authorised Treatment Facility that buys your vehicle, and the facility pays you directly, by bank transfer, on collection. We don't buy the car, and we don't sit between you and your money.
Centres compete
Your price considers the vehicle’s age, make and model, the value of its scrap metal, any reusable parts and whether it could be repaired and resold. Recycling centres and salvage buyers compete for your car, and you see the best available price.
